FAQs

Let me answer all your questions! If what you’d like to know isn’t covered here, please send me a message through my CONTACT FORM.

Shouldn’t I be able to declutter and organise by myself?

Not necessarily. Not everyone has the vision and thought process of a Professional Organiser.

Throughout your life, you will enlist the help of others for tasks you may not have the skills, time or inclination to do yourself.

There is more to decluttering and organising than buying new boxes and storing things in a pretty way.

I can help you clear the clutter and teach you new systems and routines that will lead to a more organised and relaxed life at home for the long term.

Working with a professional eliminates procrastination and gets the job done fast.

Where do I start?

You have made the most important decision already and that is to make a start on decluttering and organising your home!

It is best to tackle one area, one category or one room at a time.  The benefits you will gain from having a clear space in your home are immense and you will most definitely want to do more.

Look at your home with a fresh pair of eyes and decide which area you would like to begin with. You will probably already have somewhere in mind, based on how the space is functioning and how you are feeling towards it.

You may have an area in the home that is really getting you down, but if you find it difficult to determine where to start, don’t worry, I can advise and help you come to that decision.

What if my home is too messy?

Please don’t worry about showing me your home. I am unshockable and love what I do.

I’m used to seeing messy spaces and enjoy the challenge of the transformation.

I will only undertake work within the areas of my expertise, abilities and competence.

If and when appropriate, I will invite you to seek other forms of professional help.

What will it be like working with you?

My ultimate goal is to provide you with a motivating and enjoyable service that addresses your decluttering and organising needs.

I am non-judgemental, friendly and easy to talk to and will have you feeling at ease in no time.

Meeting new clients for the first time is a regular occurrence, and my aim is for you to feel comfortable inviting me into your home, whether that’s face-to-face or virtually.

You will find it easy to get to know me and we will have fun transforming your space. No one ever regrets getting organised!

How long will the job take?

This is my most asked question – and the most difficult one to answer!

Every client and project is unique and there are many factors which determine how long it will take.

I will give you an estimated timeframe and cost during your initial consultation.

Session length is generally determined by the volume of items, the size of the space and the speed of decision making. Some clients tire easily and can only manage short sessions, while others are comfortable with longer sessions.

Likewise, some projects take a few hours while some take months.

In general, it can take anything between 6 – 10 hours to organise a kitchen, 6 – 20 hours to organise a wardrobe or walk-in closet. A storage space such as a loft or garage can take from 6 – 20 hours. A home office or small business space can take between 6 – 25 hours.

My advice to every client is simply to start.

It is a process. When you work with me, you will quickly see results and feel motivated to do more.

We can discuss your requirements in detail during your free 30-minute video consultation, which you can book HERE.

Will you make me get rid of all my stuff?

Absolutely not.

The main aim of decluttering is to remove unnecessary items you do not need, in order to make the area more pleasant and useful.

There will be no pressure to let things go.

I will guide and support you to sort through your belongings, helping you come to those important decisions by yourself.

It’s important to remember, however, that nothing will change if nothing changes!

What will I need to buy before the session?

There is no need to purchase anything before the session.

In fact, in most cases, waiting until the decluttering process is finished is essential to avoid wasting time, energy and money on storage items that are not required.

Sourcing suitable storage solutions is my job and my area of expertise. It forms part of the service I provide for you.

Virtual sessions are slightly different as you do all the hands-on work with my guidance. If any products are required, I will source those for you and send you a suggested list so you can order/purchase them at your leisure before the session.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured and covered for Public Liability.

I am a verified member of APDO, the UK’s membership association for decluttering and organising professionals.

Additionally, I am DBS checked, and registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and as a waste carrier with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

How do I pay you?

All sessions and packages must be paid for in full, in advance.

I’ll send you an invoice by email and I accept online payments via PayPal or direct bank transfer. My PayPal account accepts credit/debit card payments.

How do I book you?

Book your free video consultation HERE.

During our call, we’ll discuss your decluttering and organising needs and together decide on the best package for you.

If you’d rather not book a video call, please send me a message via my CONTACT FORM and we can arrange an alternative.
